**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled Airport Security Officer to join our team at Paladin Airport Security Services Ltd. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers and staff at our airport.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Screen passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints efficiently and effectively
* Provide professional and courteous service to passengers, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and respectful manner
* Confirm valid boarding passes and ensure that all passengers have the necessary documentation to proceed
* Scan and test baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other technology, as well as physical search techniques
* Protect restricted areas and maintain a high level of situational awareness at all times
* Manage conflict and difficult situations in a professional and respectful manner
* Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and passengers
* Uphold all regulations and procedures related to airport security

**Requirements**
* Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
* Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
* Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
* Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
* Current resident of Smithers or the surrounding area
