About Us

At Steamclock, we pride ourselves on being a profitable and expanding software studio located in Gastown. Our focus is on creating exceptional mobile applications while fostering a work environment that reflects our values. We also contribute to the open-source community by developing tools such as BlueJay, Netable, and NiceComponents.

Your Role

As a Lead iOS Software Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and enhance iOS applications using Swift.
  • Engage in cross-platform development utilizing tools like Kotlin Multiplatform and React Native.
  • Contribute to special initiatives, including open-source libraries and backend APIs.
  • Collaborate with small teams to deliver multiple products each year.
  • Support team growth through mentorship and sharing best practices.
  • Guide technical decisions and establish effective processes.
  • Provide constructive feedback on code reviews and technical strategies.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in shipping native iOS applications using Swift.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire others in their professional development.
  • Availability to work full-time during Pacific Time business hours.
  • Some experience in a leadership capacity, whether in product management or leading a development team.
  • A background in either a startup or client-services environment.
  • A passion for creating exceptional customer-facing software.
  • Additional skills in areas such as Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native, Turbo, Node, or Rails would be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with the experience of the successful candidate, with potential starting salaries in the range of $125k to $145k for more experienced individuals. We offer:
