Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Control Specialist to join our team at Ferrovial. As a key member of our infrastructure management team, you will be responsible for responding to incidents on provincial highways and ensuring the safety of the traveling public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary liaison between provincial and local police, fire, and emergency responders during incident management.
  • Communicate with the Ministry of Transportation Traffic Operations Centre to provide information and updates on incidents.
  • Complete incident reports and coordinate detour routes in the event of an asset closure.
  • Conduct follow-through investigations on all fatalities to determine if facilities contributed to the accident.
  • Track and maintain files on all major incidents and accidents involving assets, personnel, and equipment.
  • Assist with the administration of third-party claims by gathering documentation and paperwork.
  • Coordinate special events involving traffic control, detours, and/or closures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years' work experience in highway maintenance operations, freeway traffic control, and incidents/accidents management.
  • Valid Class DZ driver's license with a good driving record to drive company vehicles.
  • OTM BOOK 7 certification required.
Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and frequent exposure to insects.
