Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Supervisor to join our team at Gaspésie Diesel Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of heavy duty equipment mechanics and ensuring the efficient operation of our repair shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Work Activities
    • Oversee the work of heavy duty equipment mechanics and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
    • Coordinate and schedule activities to meet work schedules and deadlines.
  • Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity
    • Identify areas for improvement and recommend measures to increase productivity and product quality.
  • Recruit and Hire Workers
    • Recruit and hire skilled workers to join our team.
  • Train and Develop Staff
    • Provide training and development opportunities to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations are Followed
    • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed in the workplace.
  • Requisition and Order Materials
    • Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience
    • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Language
    • Fluency in French.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
