**About the Role**
We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Claims Assistant I to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a Claims Assistant I, you will play a critical role in the settlement of insurance claims, providing administrative assistance and front-line quality customer service.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and process claims-related documents and correspondence.
- Manage file storage and retrieval processes for closed claims.
- Provide administrative support, including photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
- Open new claims and assign claims adjusters.
- Process and coordinate incoming correspondence, including mail and email.
- Process payments on claim files.
- Identify process improvements and make recommendations to management.
**Requirements:**
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or Administration.
- Available to work full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter Term.
- Must be returning to school in Summer or Fall following the internship.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and/or French preferred).
- Ability to consistently perform at a superior level with respect to both accuracy and volume of work completed.
- Strong computer skills or training with standard Microsoft Office applications, including data entry.
- Experience with customer service is considered an asset.
- Experience using PDF Factory is considered an asset.
