We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Development Specialist to join our team at Heather Rhodes. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children to thrive.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess children's development and create personalized learning plans to support their growth and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean and safe environment, and assist with cooking duties as needed.
  • Provide exceptional care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and communicate effectively with parents to ensure seamless care.
  • Lead activities that foster creativity, such as storytelling, arts, and physical activities.
  • Encourage children to express themselves through various media, including art, music, and dramatic play.
  • Guide children in developing essential life skills, such as eating, dressing, and using the bathroom.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for meals and rest periods.
  • Monitor children's progress and report any concerns to parents or supervisors.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and address any challenges.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with colleagues and community service providers.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, and plan activities for school-age children before and after regular school hours.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in childcare or a related field.
  • Required certifications, such as first aid and CPR.
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Permanent position, 40 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
