Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at IMP Aerostructures. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective treatment of wastewater and the maintenance of our water treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Water Treatment Systems: Operate and maintain filtration and clarification systems, pumping systems, and other equipment to ensure the efficient treatment of wastewater.
  • Monitor and Control Water Quality: Monitor and control water quality by taking physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge, and collecting and testing water samples for chemical and bacterial content.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including the installation, assembly, and repairs to equipment, and the maintenance of chemical feed stocks.
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to water treatment and wastewater management.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of our water treatment systems and to address any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Backflow prevention Certification, Water wastewater operator Certification, Confined Space Entry Training, Forklift Operator Certification, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, Water Treatment Certificate (Levels I, II, III or IV), and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent oral communication skills, flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, manual dexterity, and physically demanding work.
