Position Overview
Under the guidance of the designated Pharmacy Manager, the Licensed Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise dispensing of all prescriptions. This responsibility includes adherence to provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing pharmacy practice. Our focus is on delivering exceptional patient care, requiring superior communication skills in a dynamic environment that caters to the needs of our residents. We foster a supportive team atmosphere where goal-oriented individuals can thrive and tackle demanding challenges.
Compensation: $30-$34/hour
Actual pay rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience with CareRx Integrated Pharmacy.
Your Daily Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with all pharmacy team members to ensure accurate, safe, timely, and complete dispensing of medication orders while optimizing continuity of care and resident outcomes.
- Execute daily pharmacy dispensing tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures.
- Consult with pharmacy management regarding any unresolved issues related to daily operations.
- Maintain professionalism while communicating with all members of the resident care team, adhering to corporate policies to ensure high standards of customer service and quality pharmacy service.
- Keep accurate, organized, and complete resident health records, ensuring proper documentation and continuity of care.
- Comply with all provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
- Assist in the management and monitoring of pharmacy inventory.
- Participate in training and support for newly hired and existing pharmacy team members as needed.
- Engage in ongoing continuing education to stay current with pharmaceutical, medical, and professional licensing information, as well as corporate updates, policies, and standards.
- Prepare and compound medications as necessary.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
- Current registration and good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (RPhT).
- Familiarity with eMAR systems (such as Catalyst oneMAR, Mede-Care, and Point Click Care (PCC) software) is an asset.
- Experience with Kroll is highly preferred.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain strong team relationships.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong prioritization skills for managing work demands.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Capability to manage workflow and priorities to meet deadlines.
