Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable individual to join our team at Long Point Lobster & Seafood Limited as a Fish Processing Labourer. This is a seasonal position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks related to fish and shellfish processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Handling: Transport fish and shellfish to the work area, ensuring they are properly stored and handled to prevent damage.
  • Quality Control: Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing, and weigh fish or shellfish to ensure accurate packaging.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Sorting and Packaging: Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination, and pack them in ice to ensure freshness.
Work Environment

The work site environment is characterized by odours, cold/refrigerated temperatures, and wet/damp conditions. The successful candidate must be able to work in these conditions and perform repetitive tasks with physical demands.

Physical Demands
  • Weight Handling: The ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) is required.
  • Standing and Mobility: The successful candidate must be able to stand for extended periods and move around the work area.
