Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable individual to join our team as a Fish Processing Labourer at Long Point Lobster & Seafood Limited.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport fish and shellfish to the work area, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing, adhering to quality control standards.
  • Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight, and pack fish in ice, maintaining accurate records.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination, ensuring efficient processing and minimal waste.
Work Environment

The work site environment is characterized by odours, cold/refrigerated temperatures, and wet/damp conditions. The successful candidate must be able to work in these conditions and adapt to changing circumstances.

Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but the ability to learn and adapt is essential.
  • Will train on the job, with a focus on developing skills and knowledge in fish and shellfish processing.
  • Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a team player attitude are essential for success in this role.
Working Conditions

The work term is seasonal, with a variable number of hours per week (30-60 hours). The work language is English, and the successful candidate must be legally able to work in Canada.
