About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at Black Sparrow Construction Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the framing and installation of wood structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimation and Planning
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for framing and installation projects.
    • Develop and implement plans to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Site Work
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
    • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of other construction team members.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking environments.
    • Handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
    • Meet tight deadlines and manage a large workload.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Demonstrate accurate and efficient work habits.
    • Focus on delivering high-quality results and meeting client expectations.
    • Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues and clients.
    • Exercise sound judgement and decision-making skills.

  • Experience and Qualifications
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in framing and installation.
    • Permanent employment with a reputable construction company.
    • Fluency in English language.
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week.
