About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Customer Development Executive to join our team at Colgate. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for delivering budgeted sales, profit growth, and share, while developing the day-to-day partnership between Colgate and our customers in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for a portfolio of Colgate products with the retailer
  • Achieving budgeted Net Sales & Margin targets
  • Identify and drive through to delivery incremental opportunities via general business and data analysis, negotiation, and understanding opportunities for potential business change
  • Supporting the Senior Customer Development Manager with Joint Business planning and account administration
  • Fully manage P&L for part of the portfolio
  • Responsible for the input of an accurate demand plan in demand planning tools
What You Will Do
  • Build strong external networks with the Buyers/Buying Manager to raise the profile, business focus, and support for Colgate within this customer
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Irish Market, competitor landscape, and customer strategy, and their shopper to demonstrate how Irish customers can win and CP can optimize their brands within this environment
  • Develop and gain agreement to a 12/24-month plan for Ireland
  • Demonstrate commercial competence in interrogating the business, in order to swiftly identify issues and opportunities for resolution/optimization gaining agreement from the Tesco buyers
  • Lead a cross-functional relationship with Ireland customers and Colgate Palmolive – incorporating support from Category Management and Shopper Marketing where required
  • Work closely with Colgate Palmolive UK team and align all plans with cross-functional teams based in the UK
  • Share market intelligence from Nielsen/Kantar etc with the customers to continue to own the conversation
  • Attend customer meetings at the retailer with CDM, supporting preparation with promotional analysis and Joint Business Plan updates
  • Strengthen customer selling story and add insight to broader CP business
  • To build mutually beneficial relationships with your retailers Supply Chain contacts responsible for forecasting that enable productive CPFR conversations to drive alignment in the customer demand plan
  • Manage external contact with the retailer. Identify and develop the relevant contacts for the retailer's online business (where required)

  • A forward-thinking, ambitious self-starter & leader, able to influence and negotiate to senior levels, both internally and externally, with clear commitment to delivering business results and winning in the Irish Market
