Job Overview

As a Quality Control Specialist at Smiths Interconnect, you will be responsible for examining products, processes, equipment, and personnel to ensure adherence to the company's regulatory standards, procedures, and specifications. Your role is crucial in guaranteeing that all products exiting the facility meet our quality benchmarks and align with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-line inspections and gather relevant data.
  • Perform incoming inspections of raw materials.
  • Execute final and outgoing inspections.
  • Utilize key cards, written protocols, manuals, drawings, and other instructions to assess product performance criteria.
  • Handle sensitive and delicate equipment to ensure all products are tested and sorted within specified parameters.
  • Carry out visual inspections of products, potentially using a microscope, to meet company specifications.
  • Engage in mechanical assembly to finalize products after evaluating performance and quality criteria.
  • Manage product serialization and custom labeling.
  • Follow documented data collection processes and maintain necessary records.
  • Prepare Certificates of Compliance and any other test information requested by customers.
  • Package finished products into pre-pack boxes or trays for transfer.
  • Meet shipping targets as established by the organization.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Candidate Profile

  • High School Diploma required; DEC in Electronics or a related field is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Proficient in reading mechanical and schematic footprint drawings.
  • Familiar with standard metrology tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
  • Experience using ERP systems for electronic inspection processing.
  • Energetic, proactive team player with a strong sense of ownership over tasks.
  • High level of concentration and attention to detail for extended periods.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in English and French (both spoken and written).
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
