About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Banking Vice President to join our team at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA. As a key member of our Investment Banking Coverage Team, you will be responsible for managing our global business relationships with large multinational clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Strategy Development: Establish a client and product strategy to develop our FIG/sponsor coverage Canada franchise.
  • Portfolio Growth: Support the growth of a selective portfolio of Large Cap Corporate accounts.
  • Deal Flow Generation: Drive deal flow through personal relationships and introductions between SG delegates and clients.
  • Client Interaction: Interact with business line product specialists on specific client initiatives.
  • Deal Tracking: Track of live deal and pitch communication for current and prospective clients.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare Pre-Screening / Support Memos (business cases and client profitability analysis) and profitability analysis (advanced Excel modeling) for prospective transactions.
  • Client Profile Development: Develop client profiles and conduct special sector studies as needed.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients for periodic Know Your Client document updates and prepare client presentations.
  • Corporate Finance Data: Gather corporate finance data on individual clients or industrial sectors.
  • Travel: Travel for industry presentations and client meetings as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal presentation skills, ability to write succinctly and convincingly, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong Financial Accounting and Corporate Finance skillset, mastery of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience: 6-8 years of prior work experience in investment banking, corporate banking, corporate finance, transaction services, asset management, or consulting.
  • Education: Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer-Based Research Tools: Proficient in computer-based research tools (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Thomson Reuters).
  • Bank Products: Knowledge of bank products (can be learned over time).
  • Personal Drive: Strong personal drive and self-motivation.
Language

English is the primary language of communication for this role, with the ability to communicate in French also being an asset.
