About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Specialist to join our team at Triovest, a leading commercial real estate company. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will play a critical role in assisting our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives across our developments, owned and managed assets, and internal operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Energy and Water Audits: Conduct ASHRAE level I and II energy and water audits, Net Zero Carbon (NZC) transition plans, and NZC building certifications to identify energy, emissions, and water conservation measures.
  • Forecast Utility Consumption: Gather energy and water utility data for properties and create regression models to predict future consumption and cost based on inflation and market conditions.
  • Provide Property-Level Support: Serve as a sustainability resource, motivator, and champion for positive change, monitoring and analyzing performance versus targets and benchmarks for energy, emissions, water, and waste.
  • Support Corporate Sustainability Initiatives: Champion sustainability projects and initiatives, supporting the securing of new business, practice development, and research to remain current with industry trends and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or science, with masters-level sustainability-related training or certifications an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum two years related engineering, real estate, and/or sustainability experience, preferably with direct consulting experience.
  • Skills: Good knowledge of building and energy codes/standards, detailed understanding of building mechanical systems, operations, and automation systems, and experience with analysis of building and portfolio-level energy, emissions, water, and waste performance.
