Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert nursing care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver professional nursing care to patients and families, utilizing evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills.
  • Establish, provide, and evaluate clinical nursing care to patients and families, demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Practice to the full scope of practice of the Registered Nurse, within own level of competence, and in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Standards of Nursing Practice and QCH Policies and Procedures.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • RN Diploma.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • 1 year recent experience in an acute care setting.
  • Critical Care Certificate in progress.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and carry out verbal and written instructions in the English language.
  • Ability to work effectively within the nursing and inter-professional team.
  • Demonstrated computer competency.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Critical Care Nursing CNA Certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Experience with clinical documentation in an Electronic Health Record.
  • Membership in RNAO, certifications, and associations related to nursing specialty.
  • Experience as preceptor/mentor.
