Lead Our Team in Providing Professional Aircraft Fire Rescue Services

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to join our team at Vancouver International Fire & Rescue as a Battalion Chief – Operations. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for supporting strategic fire protection planning, managing operational systems, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fire protection plan to ensure the safety of our team and the public.
  • Provide relief coverage and daily/weekly duty chief responsibilities to ensure seamless operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding and alignment.
  • Manage staffing levels to ensure proper response and coverage, ensuring our team is equipped to handle any situation.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity.

Key Qualifications:

  • Fire Officer III certification and Incident Safety Officer training, demonstrating your expertise in fire safety and emergency response.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in fire and rescue services, showcasing your ability to lead and manage high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to obtain necessary licenses within three months, ensuring you meet the requirements for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in a related field, such as fire science or emergency management, enhancing your knowledge and expertise.
  • Fire Officer IV certification and Fire Service Instructor training, demonstrating your commitment to ongoing learning and development.
