Job Title: Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at ROMAN BARSKI TRANSPORT LTD. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of commercial transport trucks.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with experience working on heavy equipment and commercial vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues with our trucks, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure our fleet is running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair issues with commercial transport trucks
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and tire rotations
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
  • Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
  • Discuss work with supervisor
  • Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience working on heavy equipment and commercial vehicles
  • Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
