Job Title: Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at ROMAN BARSKI TRANSPORT LTD. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of commercial transport trucks.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with experience working on heavy equipment and commercial vehicles. You will be responsible for inspecting and testing mechanical units, adjusting and repairing parts and components, and ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer's specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
  • Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
  • Discuss work with supervisor
  • Review work orders
  • Test automotive systems and components
  • Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service
Requirements:
  • Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • 5 years or more of experience in a related field
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a garage or workshop environment, with regular exposure to dust, dirt, and noise. Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment will be provided.
