Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Superintendent, Process Operations to lead our safety culture at the Ekati Diamond Mine. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal and contractual requirements, participating in goal setting and strategic planning, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in and advocate for Health, Safety, Environment, and Security programs to ensure safety is embedded in all aspects of operations.
- Ensure all legal and contractual requirements are met, including those under the NWT Mines Health & Safety Act.
- Actively participate in goal setting and strategic planning for all processing operations.
- Promote and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business.
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets and objectives through rigorous monitoring and control of activities.
- Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets, including evaluating and reviewing processing methods and equipment.
- Manage all technical activities to ensure a safe operating process is defined and applied.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the process plant team using best practices.
- Accountability for achieving targets and ensuring effective cost management.
- Degree in Metallurgical, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least seven (7) years of progressive experience in processing roles, preferably in diamond processing.
- At least five (5) years' experience in a supervisory role.
- Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to gain buy-in from within the team and other departments.
- Experience working in the mining industry, northern Canada, and an understanding of the northern regulatory environment is preferred.
