Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver therapeutic services to clients referred through various channels, addressing psychosocial challenges stemming from injury, trauma, and mental health disorders.
  • Utilize a goal-oriented therapeutic methodology to alleviate distress and enhance social and occupational functioning.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary team discussions to evaluate clients' treatment plans, progress, and any obstacles encountered.
  • Ensure high-quality documentation and effective communication with all relevant parties.

Licensing Requirements:

  • Must be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists as a Registered Counseling Therapist.
  • A minimum of a Master's Degree in a counselling-related discipline such as Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work is required.

Experience Needed:

  • Proven experience in case formulation and treatment of a variety of mental health issues with adult clients.
  • Clinical expertise in grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment challenges.
  • Familiarity with the psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndromes is advantageous.
  • Training and experience in cognitive behavioral therapy techniques (e.g., CBT, ACT, CPT).
  • Experience collaborating within a multi/interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive assessment, progress, and discharge documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and integrity are essential.
