We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Rehabilitation Care Worker to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Rehabilitation Care Worker plays a crucial role in assisting individuals with disabilities by delivering essential life skills training and support services. This includes helping clients with personal care, engaging in community activities, managing household tasks, meal planning and preparation, scheduling medical appointments, and organizing daily routines. The aim is to empower clients to achieve maximum independence in their daily lives while providing necessary support and intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide life skills training tailored to the needs of clients with disabilities.
- Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
- Facilitate access to community resources and leisure programs.
- Support clients in meal planning and preparation.
- Help clients manage their medical appointments and schedules.
- Observe and report changes in clients' conditions and behaviors.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with brain injuries or disabilities in a supportive environment.
- Certification in Emergency First Aid or equivalent, along with CPR level A.
- Relevant post-secondary education or a combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to perform physical and mental tasks associated with the role.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Capability to follow instructions and guidelines.
- Ability to recognize and respond to emotional and behavioral changes in clients.
- Skills in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
