We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Supervisor to join our team at KS Nurseries Ltd. As a key member of our horticulture team, you will be responsible for planning and directing grounds maintenance, supervising nursery and greenhouse workers, and establishing work schedules and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Grounds Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement effective grounds maintenance plans to ensure the health and appearance of our nursery and greenhouse operations.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of 5-10 nursery and greenhouse workers, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
- Labour and Materials Management: Plan and estimate labour and materials required for grounds maintenance, requisitioning or ordering materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Work Records and Logs: Maintain accurate and up-to-date work records and logs, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.
- Problem-Solving and Technical Advice: Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for persons with disabilities, newcomers and refugees, youth, veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Language: English.
- Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
