Greenhouse Labourer

We are seeking a skilled Harvesting Labourer to join our team at KS Nurseries Ltd. in a greenhouse environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our greenhouse facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Apply Fertilizers and Pesticides: Safely apply fertilizers and pesticides to crops to promote healthy growth and prevent pests and diseases.
- Greenhouse Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain the greenhouse environment, including equipment and tools, to ensure a safe and healthy working space.
- Level Earth and Prepare Soil: Level earth to fine grade specifications and prepare soil for planting to ensure optimal crop growth.
- Mix and Apply Fertilizers: Mix and apply fertilizers to crops according to established protocols to promote healthy growth.
- Pack and Prepare Produce: Pack and prepare fruits and vegetables for market, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Remove Suckers and Water Sprouts: Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts from plants to promote healthy growth.
- Shear and Shape Trees and Plants: Shear and shape trees and plants with a knife to maintain desired shapes and promote healthy growth.
- Sort and Prepare Produce: Sort and prepare fruits and vegetables for market, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Tie and Secure Plants: Tie and secure plants to trellises or other supports to promote healthy growth.
- Train Trees to Produce Higher Quality Fruit: Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality through pruning and other techniques.
- Weeding and Cleaning: Weed and clean the work area to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
- Examine Product for Quality: Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market, ensuring it meets established standards.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities, newcomers and/or refugees, youth, Indigenous people, and mature workers.
