Job Title: Sales Representative - Home Shows

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team at Marketplace Events. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling exhibit space to businesses in the home improvement industry for our premier home shows in Winnipeg.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell exhibit space to businesses in the home improvement industry for our premier home shows in Winnipeg.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with exhibitors to ensure customer satisfaction and provide excellent service.
  • Make 50-60 sales calls per day to prospects and existing clients to meet weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals and related targets.
  • Work in a CRM program to document and complete all sales conversations and information.
  • Constantly seek out leads for potential exhibitors from various sources, including advertisements, internet sources, competitive shows, and association members.
  • Build and maintain a sales database using existing processes and guidelines for documenting records.
  • Join relevant professional associations, attend meetings, and network with membership to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Attend all appropriate competitive shows and events to follow up on leads and stay informed about industry developments.
  • Source local sponsorship leads and understand the show features, marketing, and promotional plan to utilize this information effectively.
  • Provide on-site floor management at the show and assist show management with the coordination of the move-in and move-out of the show.
  • Bring personal energy, enthusiasm, and flair as a member of the sales team, willing to put in whatever hours are necessary to get the job done.
  • Ensure all e-contracts are signed and space is paid in full on time, and make collection calls as needed.
  • Travel to company meetings, shows, and training to stay informed and up-to-date on industry developments.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of proven sales experience, preferably within a telephone-based, inside sales, outbound calling environment.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills, are required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines are required.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment is required.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness, as well as stress management skills, are required.
  • Experience in events is a plus.
