We are seeking skilled tradespeople to join our team as Railway Car Technicians at our Vancouver Maintenance Center. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring our passenger cars operate at peak capacity year-round.
Key Responsibilities- Perform regular maintenance and heavy repairs on our national fleet of passenger cars
- Service and maintain interior and exterior components, including seats, toilets, tables, sinks, blinds, panels, piping, windows, and brake rigging
- Train to tackle major components such as wheelsets, couplers, springs, and other critical systems
The position is permanent, with a guaranteed 40-hour workweek. Shifts may vary, including day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Over-time is available, and candidates must be available to work any day of the week during peak season.
What We Offer- Hourly salary: $35.22/hour (based on experience)
- Evening shift differential: $1.50/hour
- Night shift differential: $2.00/hour
- Red Seal differential: $1.00/hour
- Full benefits, including dental, medical, pension plan, ride pass, and 5 personal days + vacations
- Uniforms, tools, PPE, and free parking provided
We are looking for experienced tradespeople with a background in skilled trades, such as millwright, carpenter, plumber, welder, fabricator, or automotive technician. Red Seal certification is an asset, but we welcome apprentices to apply. Nice-to-have skills include journeyman status, experience in machinery maintenance, and experience assembling, mounting, or finishing transportation equipment.
