Job Title: Program Manager

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our team at Advanced Micro Devices inc. in Markham, Canada.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, planning, and driving projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance. They will scope technical feasibility of new Products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads, Engineers, and Product Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop program schedule by considering various Driver, SW Stack components, and HW/FW dependencies, negotiate and create a staffing plan that supports the schedule.
  • Establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs.
  • Plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs.
  • Communicate effectively with senior executives and address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Engineering organizations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements management, documentation management, and defect management. They will also have industry experience in program/project management, excellent presentation and leadership skills, and the ability to lead technical discussions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Good understanding of Agile methodology.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times.
  • Engineering background preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, and Excel is an asset.
