Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our team at AMD. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for defining, planning, and driving projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance.

The successful candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software programs, and drive a schedule for business planning towards growth that aligns to business strategy.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Defines, plans, and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance
  • Scope technical feasibility of new products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads, Engineers, and Product Managers
  • Develop program schedule by considering various Driver, SW Stack components, and HW/FW dependencies, negotiate, and create a staffing plan that supports the schedule
  • Building, creating, and maintaining a well-developed plan, managing, and executing the program as per plan is critical
  • Establish formal program management artifacts, including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs
  • Plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs
  • Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement. The candidate must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Engineering organizations

The preferred experience for this role includes:

  • Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements management, documentation management, and defect management
  • Industry experience in program/project management
  • Excellent presentation and leadership skills, able to lead technical discussions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into actionable items
  • Able to communicate concepts and processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented, and results-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well with cross-functional teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times
  • Engineering background preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, and Excel is an asset
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • PMP certification is highly desirable but not mandatory

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree. Management degree is a plus.
