Job Summary:
Joseph Brant Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Core Laboratory team. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing testing, calibration, and quality control procedures on reagents and equipment, as well as troubleshooting and maintaining departmental policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform testing, calibration, and quality control procedures on reagents and equipment
- Troubleshoot and maintain departmental policies and standards
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals
- Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and procedures
Requirements:
- Current CMLTO registration required
- Recent experience in a Core Laboratory setting required
- Strong working knowledge of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Medicine required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and continuous improvement skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to work in MS Windows-based environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Meditech Client Server LIS experience
- Recent related continuing education or equivalent
