About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As an Environmental Services Worker, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.

Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning all units as assigned, including patient rooms and public areas. This will involve mopping, dusting, and vacuuming furniture, floors, and stairways, as well as buffing, scrubbing, and refinishing floors. You will also be responsible for moving and arranging furniture and changing curtains and drapes.

In addition to your cleaning responsibilities, you will be expected to ensure that the principles and practices that guide our work are integrated within the services you provide and through the messages you deliver. This includes promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who has a strong commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health. You will have a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and a strong work ethic. Travel to other sites may be required, and access to a reliable vehicle is necessary.

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment, including Taski spray buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and shampooers. Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
