We are seeking a highly skilled Manager of Indirect Tax to join our team at Vaco. As a key member of our financial services company, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the filing of all GST/HST/QST, retail sales tax, insurance premium tax, and other periodic tax returns and remittances.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of the annual GST/HST & QST returns, and Annual Information returns for selected listed financial institutions.
- Manage the design, execution, and maintenance of indirect tax policies, processes, and internal control documentation.
- Identify and lead the implementation of tax process improvements and indirect tax opportunities.
- Research and screen new tax legislation to determine impact on the organization.
- Review legal agreements and provide indirect tax advice and technical support to ensure compliance with federal and provincial laws and regulations and minimize tax risk.
- Manage internal and external indirect tax audits.
- Collaborate with other departments on tax-related matters and other special projects as required.
We are looking for a candidate with a CPA designation and a minimum of 7+ years of experience in tax management. You should have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000/year, and you must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
