Job Title: Identification Processing Specialist
Company: Edmonton Police Services
Edmonton Police Services is seeking a skilled individual for a temporary full-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing identification processing services in accordance with legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze biometric data, including fingerprints and DNA samples, to identify individuals involved in criminal offenses.
- Conduct thorough searches of the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) to match fingerprints and identify suspects.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to gather and exchange information related to criminal investigations.
- Prepare and present evidence in court, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform data entry tasks and other related duties as needed to support the identification process.
Requirements:
- Completion of a Law Enforcement program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of experience in fingerprinting and biometric analysis.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Code and relevant laws, including those related to evidence collection and handling.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle confrontational situations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong focus on quality and precision.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license, with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and challenging environment, with a focus on public safety and security. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.
Compensation:
Grade 017, $40.72 hourly, $67, $85 annually.
