Plant Operations Director

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on transformational leader to join our team as a Plant Manager. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating all manufacturing activities at our facility to meet and exceed operational goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of employees to achieve safety, environmental compliance, employee relations, customer service, product quality, cost, and productivity goals.
- Develop and implement operational criteria to measure the achievement of plant objectives and efficiencies.
- Implement systematic approaches to delivering and sustaining results.
- Manage maintenance management systems and proactive maintenance practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and process management.
- Develop and coach managers and supervisors in a high-performing environment.
- Initiate critical conversations and provide timely feedback as needed.
- Foster and maintain a positive and productive labor relations environment in a union environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor of engineering degree (preference Mechanical engineering) with minimum 10 years plant manager experience or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, change management, interpersonal, communication, and people management skills.
- Experience with process safety management and creating a culture where all accidents are preventable.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma expertise a definite asset.
- Strong PC & software skills in Microsoft Office applications.
