Job Summary:

The Stores Controller will be responsible for overseeing the inventory management and logistics operations at the IMP Aerospace and Defence location. This role will involve coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies, as well as ensuring accurate inventory records and efficient warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the receipt and storage of incoming materials and supplies, ensuring accurate inventory records and efficient storage practices.
  • Coordinate the distribution of materials and supplies to production teams and other departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with production teams and other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including inventory levels, stock movements, and shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including WHMIS and Transport Canada regulations.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S activities to improve warehouse operations and efficiency.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by Management.

Requirements:

  • At least two years experience in inventory control, preferably in a warehouse or storeroom environment.
  • Forklift Operator certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Physical ability to perform the role, including lifting and moving heavy materials.
  • Knowledge of inventory control methods, manuals, and computerized record keeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and make independent judgments.
  • Basic knowledge of WHMIS regulations and other regulations related to shipping.
  • Current provincial driver's license.
  • Acceptable attendance and performance records.
