Job Title: General Labourer - Waste Management

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled General Labourer to join our team at our Bailieboro location. As a General Labourer, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our waste management facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and handle client waste, including bulk liquids and solids, and containerized waste.
  • Take samples from waste vehicles and containers for lab analysis.
  • Load and unload waste vehicles, including vacuum trucks, tankers, straight trucks, and van trailers.
  • Operate plant machinery and assist with general maintenance.
  • Assist with waste treatment and wastewater treatment methods and processes.
  • Prepare shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous waste for transport.
  • Ensure compliance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Notify supervisors of any defects, damages, mistakes, errors, contamination, spills, or other incidents.
Requirements:
  • Previous hazardous and non-hazardous waste management experience is an asset.
  • Must be clean-shaven.
  • Must be able to work a 2-week rotation between morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday, and one Saturday every four weeks.
  • Previous experience operating air diaphragm pumps and bulk liquid transfer systems is an asset.
  • Ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs.
  • Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of required drug testing.
  • Propane forklift experience/certification is an asset.
  • Must be motivated, able to multi-task, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be comfortable working in a mostly outdoor environment.
