About the Opportunity

Our client, a National law firm, is seeking a registered Patent Agent with a background in electrical engineering to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drafting of patents in the electrical field
  2. Patent prosecution
  3. Business development
  4. Possible litigation support when required
About You

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree in either electrical engineering, computer sciences or software engineering
  2. Be a registered Canadian Patent Agent
  3. Possess a minimum of 3 years experience as a Patent Agent
  4. Previous experience in a law firm, IP boutique or in-house setting
  5. Possess excellent drafting skills
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  7. US Patent Agent qualification would be an asset
  8. Bilingualism an asset but not required
About the Job

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Patent Agency unit within a thriving National law firm. An existing book of business would be an asset but is not required. A group of two or more Agents would also be considered. Salary is dependent on experience. All applications will be held in the strictest of confidence.
