We are seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Engineer to join our team at R.V. Anderson Associates Limited. As a key member of our Transportation Planning group, you will have the opportunity to expand your experience and responsibility while working on a wide variety of transportation engineering and planning projects.

About the Role

  • Manage and lead projects, providing technical analysis, client liaison, project management, and proposal preparation for public and private sector clients.
  • Prepare and contribute to transportation studies, including multi-modal studies, transportation master plans, environmental assessments, traffic impact studies, and more.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying and capturing opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients.
  • Assist with proposal and report preparation, and coordinate public and agency consultation activities.
  • Familiarity with software packages such as Synchro SimTraffic, Arcady, VISSIM, EMME, and MS Office.
  • Design and manage field work, including site investigations and traffic data collection.
  • Contribute to work analysis and design, including pavement markings, signage, and traffic management.
  • Undertake business travel as required.
  • Assist and mentor technical staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering with a transportation engineering focus.
  • Qualified to practice as a Professional Engineer in Ontario, or eligible to be qualified within six months.
  • 15+ years of professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry.
  • Experience in transportation planning and preliminary design studies, including multi-modal transportation infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of geometric design and traffic engineering principles.
  • Understanding of traffic demand forecasting and impact analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of Municipal Class EA process.
  • Strong communication, report writing, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Consulting industry experience and experience working with municipalities is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
