Position Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and analytically adept professional to join our team as a Senior Financial Analyst.

Role Significance

The Senior Financial Analyst is vital in ensuring the fiscal viability of Nova Scotia by assisting in budgeting, strategic planning, and forecasting activities. Key responsibilities include tracking revenue streams, coordinating budgetary processes, delivering financial insights and policy recommendations, and aiding in the formulation of financial strategies.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director.

Main Responsibilities

  • Gather, evaluate, and present data on provincial revenues
  • Collaborate with the Treasury Board Office
  • Act as a representative for the Department in committees and special initiatives
  • Identify and investigate potential budgetary challenges
  • Manage projects effectively
  • Draft reports and provide recommendations
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, along with relevant experience. Strong analytical capabilities, familiarity with budgeting methodologies, knowledge of governmental frameworks, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are essential.

Experience in financial oversight, policy evaluation, and a recognized professional designation in accounting or finance will be considered advantageous.

Equivalency Consideration

Applicants must demonstrate equivalent qualifications in education and experience.

Leadership Evaluation
