Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As a Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing holistic nursing care to oncology patients, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, treatment coordination, and education.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and modify care plans as needed.
- Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient reactions and responses.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, documenting all interactions, assessments, and interventions.
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and procedures.
- Refer patients to other healthcare professionals and services as required, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Contribute to a safe and respectful environment by adhering to emergency procedures and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR (Level C) certification.
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
