Position:
Unit Charge Nurse
Schedule: 7pm - 7:30am / Full Time / 36 Hours
Unit: 4B Moderate Care Unit
The 4B Moderate Care Unit is characterized by a dynamic atmosphere with a high turnover of patients and a diverse range of medical conditions. This role presents an excellent opportunity to enhance critical care competencies and refine assessment abilities.
This unit comprises 12 beds and operates 24 hours, serving as a key observation area for patients within the heart and vascular service line.
Patients in this unit may include those requiring critical care while awaiting transfer to specialized ICUs or step-down units, as well as individuals who have undergone same-day procedures and need extended monitoring before discharge.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Must possess a valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or a temporary permit sanctioned by the Georgia Licensing Board.
Upon internal promotion or external hiring, the selected candidate must fulfill UCN/SNM criteria within nine months, which includes completing the Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488 course, attending a formal preceptor training workshop, and enrolling in the LEAP course.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily operations during assigned shifts on the clinical unit.
- Supervise nursing staff and facilitate effective communication with physicians and administrative personnel to ensure optimal patient and family-centered care.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, conflict resolution abilities, and collaborative spirit.
- Demonstrate clinical insight, sound judgment, and calculated risk-taking in nursing care.
- Complete necessary reports related to employee performance, risk management, and unit operations within designated timeframes.
- Provide and coordinate resources essential for achieving optimal patient outcomes.
- Model effective time management and delegation skills, guiding colleagues in utilizing the Synergy model for care.
- Foster a culture of open communication and teamwork among staff members, while promoting leadership development.

- Work in both indoor and outdoor conditions, with responsibilities involving patient care and handling injuries.
This position requires shift work.
