Position Overview:

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (La commission scolaire du Nunavik) is seeking a qualified Teacher - General Education Specialist to join our team in Nunavik.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced educator to teach general education courses in the English and French sectors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in adult education and be fluent in two of the three official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English, and French).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach general education courses to adult learners in the English and French sectors;
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students;
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement educational programs;
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.

Requirements:

  • Brevet d'enseignement or a teaching permit from the province of Quebec or from a Canadian province;
  • Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English, and French);
  • Experience in adult education and teaching multi-level classes;
  • Knowledge of the MEES programs and experience teaching English and French as a second language.

Assets:

  • Knowledge of the Moodle platform;
  • Experience in teaching English and French as a second language;
  • Knowledge of the MEES programs.

Classification / Salary / Benefits:

The successful candidate will be classified as a Teacher - General Education Specialist and will receive a salary and benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board. The salary range is from $46,527 to $92,027 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
