Position:

Family Lawyer/Civil Litigation

Location:

Multiple

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Independently manage family law and civil litigation files, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  2. Handle a wide range of family law matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
  3. Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, utilizing strong communication and negotiation skills to achieve successful outcomes.
  4. Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients, maintaining open and transparent communication throughout the process.
  5. Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.
  6. Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials, leveraging expertise in civil litigation to achieve favorable results.
  7. Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end, ensuring seamless and efficient case management.
  8. Experience in general civil litigation is an asset, with the ability to apply knowledge and skills to a variety of cases.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 5 years of current experience in British Columbia family law and/or civil litigation practice, with a strong track record of success.
  2. Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  3. Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  4. Desire to become part of the community served, with a commitment to making a positive impact.
  5. Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership, with a focus on long-term career development.
Compensation:

Base salary: $120,000 – $160,000, depending on the year of call and experience, with opportunities for growth and advancement.
