Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is responsible for delivering a wide range of programs and services that promote a healthy and vibrant community. As a Fitness Center Attendant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cardio and weight room facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assist customers with the use of our cardio and weight room facilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities
  • Monitor and enforce facility rules and regulations
  • Collaborate with other staff members to achieve departmental goals and objectives

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 10
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with the public and providing service in a recreational facility environment
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of fitness programs and the use of fitness equipment
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
  • Asset: Knowledge of corporate computer software is an asset
