Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess, educate, and provide care to patients with mental health illnesses
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, prioritizing patient needs and safety
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, utilizing strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous learning
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices, adhering to hospital policies and guidelines

Requirements

  • Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized community college
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BCLS)
  • Current Medication Certificate
  • Certification in Crisis Intervention by Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in mental health nursing, preferred
