About this Role
The Installation Specialist is a key member of our team, responsible for the successful installation of screw piles. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. As an Installation Specialist, you will work closely with our Field Supervisor to ensure the safety and productivity of the crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute all duties of a Swamper to Installation Specialist with accuracy and efficiency
- Mentor and train junior team members in installation procedures
- Correct piles during installation and demonstrate competence in hanging extensions and installing battered piles
- Understand and apply knowledge of pile sizes and types, including bucket piles
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently, with a focus on productivity and quality
- Read and communicate specifications and directions from detailed plans and drawings
- Apply knowledge of factors impacting installation, including install specifications, vertical and battered piles, and site conditions
- Complete installations on various ground conditions and communicate with Project Management and Engineering departments as needed
- Participate in daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment, and perform hydraulic motor swaps or full head attachment swaps with support from maintenance
- Operate machines at or near upper limits, and in restricted spaces, while maintaining a focus on safety and productivity
- Understand and apply regular maintenance procedures, required documentation, and safe operation of all machines used in the field and shop
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred
- Installation experience in different divisions of construction, such as T & D, Oil and Gas, Commercial, Residential
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Experience working on construction worksites and operating machinery
- Knowledge of industry-related tools is an asset
Work Environment
- Construction environment
- Usually outdoors, including travel to remote locations
- Accommodations while on a project are arranged by Almita in either a camp setting or hotel as determined by project requirements
- Exposure to loud noises, extreme temperatures, and physical elements including bending, twisting, crouching, kneeling, standing for long periods of time, lifting weights up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
- Fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines and shift work
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
