Job Summary:
Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team. As a key member of our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team, you will be responsible for providing patient care and transportation services in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess emergency scenes and patients to determine the level of care required
- Administer medications and provide advanced life support (ALS) care as needed
- Transport patients to medical facilities using ambulances or other modes of transportation
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective patient care
- Operate ambulances and other EMS vehicles safely and efficiently
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program
- Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six demerits
- Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (FARE) test
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months experience working as a posted designation in EMS frontline operations
- Current, relevant experience as an AHS employee working in Metro EMS, dedicated Intra-facility transport, and Suburban/Rural EMS
