Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care and support in an enthusiastic and personalized way
- Ensure patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goals for comprehensive oral health
- Collect patient dental and medical history to reference during examinations
- Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment and X-rays
- Examine gums for infections or gum disease and clean teeth to remove plaque, polish, floss, and brush
- Bond and remove brackets and orthodontic appliances, place and remove arch wires
- Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress
- Update patient records and examination notes
- Perform lab duties and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Call patients for aftercare and answer questions
- Travel to satellite locations as needed
- Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with team members to provide a trusting, respectful, and cooperative work environment
Requirements:
- 2+ years' experience as a Dental Hygienist (preferred but not required)
- Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Degree program
- Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within the province, in good standing
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
- Great time management and organizational skills
- Experience in an orthodontic office (preferred but not required)
- Current CPR and First Aid training
