Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care and support in an enthusiastic and personalized way
  • Ensure patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goals for comprehensive oral health
  • Collect patient dental and medical history to reference during examinations
  • Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment and X-rays
  • Examine gums for infections or gum disease and clean teeth to remove plaque, polish, floss, and brush
  • Bond and remove brackets and orthodontic appliances, place and remove arch wires
  • Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress
  • Update patient records and examination notes
  • Perform lab duties and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Call patients for aftercare and answer questions
  • Travel to satellite locations as needed
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with team members to provide a trusting, respectful, and cooperative work environment

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience as a Dental Hygienist (preferred but not required)
  • Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Degree program
  • Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within the province, in good standing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Great time management and organizational skills
  • Experience in an orthodontic office (preferred but not required)
  • Current CPR and First Aid training
