Key Responsibilities
  • Client Representation: Advise clients on intellectual property matters and represent them before the Registrar of Trade-Marks.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough research on records, court files, and other legal documents to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Document Preparation: Draft contracts, prepare promissory notes, and draw up wills, mortgages, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
  • Case Management: Coordinate administrative services, schedule court trials, and arrange pre-trial conferences and hearings.
  • Communication: Interview clients, witnesses, and other related parties, and provide clear and concise explanations of rights and obligations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of court proceedings, judgements, and other relevant information.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
