About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team at Kamloops Lollipop Kids Centre. As an Early Childhood Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and care of young children in our centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Implementation: Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Activity Leadership: Lead activities that foster learning and development, such as storytelling, singing, and educational outings.
  • Record Keeping: Assist educators in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Child Engagement: Engage children in activities that promote learning and development, such as arts and crafts, and prepare snacks and meals.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents and guardians.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, judgement, reliability, and ability to multitask.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
