Job Title: Early Childhood Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as an Early Childhood Assistant at Kamloops Lollipop Kids Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist early childhood educators in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children to learn and grow. This role involves supporting the development of children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills through various activities and programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing programs that promote children's development.
  • Lead activities such as storytelling, singing, and outings to local points of interest.
  • Support educators in maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Engage children in activities that promote learning and development.
  • Guide children in developing good habits and routines.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for meals and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and report to parents or supervisors.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and challenges.
Requirements:
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Punctuality, judgment, and reliability.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Work Environment:

This is a permanent position with 30-40 hours of work per week. The language of work is English.
